For the past thirty years I have been a gleaner along the far fringes of Art History, occasionally dabbling and occasionally drifting unwittingly within the perilous professional perimeters of that vast and noble field without succumbing to its more unpalatable trappings. I received my B.A. in Art History from Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and my Ph.D. from The Graduate Center of The City University of New York. In 2007, I completed my dissertation on the American sculptor George Grey Barnard (1863-1938), and generally speaking my art historical interests have been in sculpture and public monuments. Since 1998 I have taught at Kingsborough Community College, CUNY, where I currently serve as the director and curator of the Kingsborough Art Museum. This site and its contents are purely my own research, and as such do not necessarily express or represent in any way the opinions or beliefs of Kingsborough Community College, the City University of New York, or most other sensible people or institutional entities.
